This is my place of inspirations, thoughts, and daily occurences. Enjoy.

mobilityequiptraining:

Been there, done that, have drooled on my books while sleeping.

And people think that all we do is massages (still) or hot packs/ultrasound/massage.

nurseangie:

oh finals week…

I literally caught my drop and mouth dropping while reading yesterday.  It all happened in the matter of 1 minute and scared me.

The bothersome apartment search

Here’s the update:

  • Today, I should find out if I got a shared 2BR Apt. on 8th and Wharton (5 blocks from the Italian Market, little farther than desired from school).  Its a cute area, but I’m not sure I’m crazy about it because its pretty small
  • Tomorrow.  I should find out if I got the shared 4BR Candystop Apt. on 28th and West Girad.  All the people living there are artsy and worldy (what I strive to be when I’m no longer bombarded as an RA!), the place has a tin ceiling, tile flooring, patio deck, and antique pieces scattered all over.  Oh, plus its only$525 per month!
  • Coming in the next couple of days. Viewing at 8th and Christian (literally 2 blocks from the Italian Market and Sabrinas Cafe!!!), 22nd and Walnut (3 blocks from Trader Joes), and various other ones.

This is a lot of work.  And a lot of walking.

The Franklin Fountain

40 Minutes by myself?  Of course I took out my ‘shouldn’t exist in the 1920s’ camera to take pictures of all this old fashioned fantasy.

Cash Register, Cha Ching

Jimmie Jar

Calling the Fountain?  “Hello, Franklin Fountain, Angela speaking, how can I help you?’ inbetween sundaes is answered on this guy.

Meet Mr. Vintage Beach.  He makes immeasureable milkshakes.

Enough Flavors?  Never.

What’s your ‘normal’ cone?

A Ice Cream Soda specialty for those Berry in love.

Fudge Pumps? Malt Cups? Soda Fountains? Oh My.

On Scheduling, calling, emailing, and getting nowhere

Sometimes I wonder what the POINT is.  If you have an email address, answer those emails.  If you have a phone number, return a call, especially if a voice message was left.  If I give you availability dates and times, respect them, don’t overbook me.

Yes, I do a lot for people.  I offer myself constantly, I organize constantly, I put my out there constantly.  DON’T SCREW ME OVER.

I didn’t ‘plan’ to be so stressed in the past 30 minutes or so.  I was actually cheerful and being productive.  Now hello Regina Spektor, gorging on more ice cream that now leaves me hurting, and going mad with post it notes and pen.

22. Do you play a sport? Tell us about it. If not, talk about a different hobby you may have.

Work.  Work is my sport.  I walk there, walk as an aide on the gym floor, walk back.

And working at Franklin Fountain?  You go up 4 flights of old stairs at least 3 times in a shift.  You rush back and forth behind the sundae bar, and dig like no other for that scoop when the ice cream is rock solid out of the basement freezer.

I used to dance.  I used to play travel soccer.  I used to be big into kickboxing classes.  Key word: Used to.

This month I’m the captain of a Floor Hockey team, so be warned, all my energy and tension will be unleashed behind a wooden stick.

Adam Richmond (Man vs. Food) visits Franklin Fountain (2008)

Commentary by an excited Soda Jerk (yours truly)

Word of Advice: DON’T come in only asking for a Mount Vesuvius.  It is the most basic of sundaes and the most hated to make by the workers.  Try all the flavors, look at the menu, and order what inspires you most.
