Any Philadelphians know about the safety factor in the 28th and Girard area? I could possibly live in a CANDYSHOP this summer, but I’d rather not risk anything for simply a sweet dream.

New York may have Broadway shows and huge Forever 21s but Philadelphia, you have my heart.
Philly, we’ll be apart for just 3 days. Don’t you worry.
You’re already promised to have my heart, sole and attention for the next two-three of my young adult life.

Sunrise over Independence Hall. Philadelphia, 2007.
There’s something about Historic City that just brings an air of the past and prestige while walking within it.

Saturday, July 16, 10am-4pm in Center Court (Reading Terminal Market)
Celebrate Bassetts Ice Cream’s 150th birthday at this year’s festival, featuring the Market’s own Bassetts Ice Cream and Miller’s Twist, as well as several other local frozen dessert artisans.
(AKA: The Best Day Ever.)

Farm Raised Arctic Char from White Dog Cafe (3040 Samson Street, Philadelphia)
Green Meadow Farm Swiss Chard, Kennett Square Wild Mushrooms, Caramelized Butternut Squash, Creamy Whole Grain Mustard Spaetzle
AKA: Probably one of the greatest dishes I’ve ever eaten. At a cost of $27 (something I would never buy myself), it was paid for by my Alternative Spring Break organization. It was divine.
Did I mention everything this restaurant cooks is organic and LOCAL? Now that’s amazing.

A video montage that describes the Alternative Spring Break I’m volunteering locally in my homecity, Philly.
(BTW: The 26 year old Ryan in charge of our site has such a winning sense of humor and has winning looks. Did I mention he’s making the city and environment better? Melting.)

The Kimmel Center (Avenue of the Arts, Philadelphia)
People need to take advantage of things like ‘Free Tours’ more often. Our tour guide’s name was an retired man named Harry and we got behind the scenes entrances to 4 Theatres, Gardens, and other hidden Theatre gems.
(Above: The 81 Foot Tall Eiffel Tower Replica for PIFA 2011)

The Glass Domed Ceiling (There was a ‘Moving Curtain’ Glass Wall too!)

The Comcast Theatre

Mahogany everything

Just a overly HUGE Organ, nbd.

Because how many times do you get to see a Harp?

The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Company (18th and Sansom, Philadelphia)
“During Prohibition, the original Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co. was known for being the center for the largest alcohol ring in the country.”
A real life speakeasy in Philly? I’m 99.9% sure this is where I will be spending my ‘Monday’ night 21st birthday. Simple dinner, classy but huge range (6 pages!) of cocktails, and a real life twenties night.
