Hi, I'm a 23 year old Long Island lady whose living her second life in Philly, home of squished pretzels and 'brotherly' love. I'm going to school for Physical Therapy and known to geek over anything anatomy or adaptive sports. You’ll find me either stopping to pick flowers for my hair or living waist deep in my studies. My favorites are fruit, artsy things, wearing aprons and sprawling down on the ground instead of actual chairs. This is my place of inspirations, thoughts, and daily occurences. Enjoy.

“Inside, gals will find witty quotes and words of wisdom as well as fabulous drinks from Cosmos to Appletinis to other fun and exciting and easy to make shots, drinks, and cocktails” Probably one of my favorite things from a close friend for my 21st birthday.  It’s filled with creative, easy drinks and coupled with quirky quotes from favorites like Frank Sinatra!

Broiled Grapefruit with Brown Sugar & Cinnamon

  • 1 grapefruit, cut in half and segmented with a knife
  • 2 to 3 Tablespoons brown sugar (or more – it’s up to you!)
  • a few generous sprinkles of cinnamon (or ginger or whatever you fancy)

Set the oven to broil and place a rack on the top shelf of the oven – this will get the grapefruit as close to the broiler heat as possible = yummy browned sweet goodness!

Halve and segment a grapefruit.  You may need to trim the bottoms of the grapefruit so it sits up straight (you want to keep all that juice for you!)

Place in a broiler safe pan and sprinkle with brown sugar and ginger.  Place in the oven under the broiler.  Bake for 5 to  7 minutes, keeping an eye on it as it cooks.  You can rotate the pan as the grapefruit browns, if you’d like.

AKA: BEST easiest breakfast finished 5 minutes ago.
