Omelet de’ jour of seared salmon, zucchini, and goat cheese? Do you know how many times I don’t eat out at restaurants? (100%).  The surprise ‘fried Irish potato’ and side salad had me as happy as a 5 year old with their first McDonalds Happy Meal and toy.

Also: The table bread served at these tables are not your simple Olive Garden rolls.  They are serious home-baked loafs with jam and kerrygold butter.  Of course I wrapped one up in a napkin to take home so they wouldn’t be wasted…

Green Meadow Farm Swiss Chard, Kennett Square Wild Mushrooms, Caramelized Butternut Squash, Creamy Whole Grain Mustard Spaetzle

AKA: Probably one of the greatest dishes I’ve ever eaten.  At a cost of $27 (something I would never buy myself), it was paid for by my Alternative Spring Break organization.  It was divine.

Did I mention everything this restaurant cooks is organic and LOCAL?  Now that’s amazing.

Beck’s Cajun Cafe (Reading Terminal Market)

Because when the logo for a shirt/apron/hat is ‘Whose your Crawdaddy’ -you know it has to be good.

Recommendations:

• Mulfaletta
• Gator Gumbor
• Snapper Soup (made with Sherry wine)
• Warm Bread Pudding lathered in a ‘Whiskey’ Cream Glaze

P.S. Did I mention they give free samples?
