I need to keep myself healthy and strong to fully help others get healthy and strong. Practicing PT keeps me from going downhill and focused on others instead of myself.

This is so precious.
I have no idea if it’ll actually stay after my 3 years of study, but when I shadowed a Pediatric PT in NJ over my Freshman summer break she ran a Little Star’s Ballerina Program. Honestly, it’s the best worlds combined. Obviously it involves PT, but I could get to relive my dance ages (from age 2 to 18 and missing Tap the most!) and work with children all day (rewarding and fun!). Plus, having other teens get involved as ‘buddies’ would only get the community (wherever that is when I decide to settle!) involved.
I bought it up in my Graduate Admissions Interview last year and it’s still an option that’s stuck to me from 2 years ago.
Physical Therapy! I did dance for many, many years and really just had a natural interest in the body and health aspects. I was originally learning towards nutrition but was told it was a difficult major to get a job in. I took a leap with Physical Therapy and luckily, I love it. It was even further confirmed in my summer after freshmen year- I shadowed under two Pediatric Physical Therapists in New Jersey (one being an aunt and another who specialized in Spina Bifida) and couldn’t help but ask so many questions and get overly excited.
I’ve been on an accelerated track for my Doctorate and haven’t changed my mind since!
